745 Game. The name “745” carries a special meaning. It represents three remarkable rugby players who have each been affected by motor neurone disease — Rob Burrow (7), Ed Slater (4) and Doddie Weir (5). The game itself was designed as a tribute to their courage and legacy, uniting the two codes of rugby in a single match to raise awareness and funds to fight MND.

Our Role:

Sakura Sports were asked to help enhance the visibility of the event, increase revenues across sponsorship, donations, ticketing and hospitality. We worked closely with the organisers, advising on a strategy that delivered positive results – quickly!

The Impact:

The results were incredible: record amounts of money raised, a groundbreaking TV deal brokered with TNT Sports , 10,000 tickets sold, over 10 million views across social platforms, all delivering mass awareness for The 4Ed Foundation and it’s work in fighting MND. We delivered an incredible line-up of partners including Mercedes-Benz, the British Army, Greene King, M&L Healthcare, CEF, Einhell, Most Wanted Wines, and City A.M.
